! Fill out the application linked above and submit to the Delmarva Council Camping Service by May 15th for all summer programs. Scholarships are based on need and are approved by a committee. The committee primarily bases its decisions on the  application information and Scoutmaster recommendation. 

HENSON SCOUT RESERVATION - Camp Nanticoke is comprised of 1500 acres of pristine pinelands in Dorchester County on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Located 12 miles West of Seaford, DE and 20 miles South of Easton, MD Henson Scout Reservation is convenient to the entire Del-Mar-Va Peninsula and the Baltimore-Washington metro area by crossing the Bay Bridge. The property is the peninsula of land between the mouth of the Marshyhope Creek and the Nanticoke River in an area designated as one of the Last Great Places on Earth in the Nature Conservancy preservation program. Camp Nanticoke is fully owned by the Del-Mar-Va Council and has been in continuous operation since 1965.

RODNEY SCOUT RESERVATION - Camp Rodney is located on 900 acres of rolling upland woodlands at the head of the Chesapeake Bay, boasting nearly 3/4 of a mile of prime bay frontage. Camp Rodney has been in continuous operation since 1923 when it was officially placed in a land trust for Del-Mar-Va Council by T. Coleman DuPont in memory of his son Eluthere. Rodney is located in Cecil County about 6 miles Southeast of Interstate 95 at Maryland Route 272 near Northeast, Maryland, providing easy access from the Baltimore, MD - Wilmington DE - Philadelphia, PA areas

TRAILBLAZERS PROGRAM is designed to encourage the use and maintenance of the camp trail system. Scouts and Scouters may enroll with the Commissioner responsible for their troop or weekend Campmaster. Each Scout is then issued a Trailblazers pocket patch and leather thong. As each camper hikes the colored trails he is awarded a pair of beads for each. He also earns a yellow bead for camping in an outpost site. Once all beads are earned and the camper has worked for a minimum of 12 hours on a Trailblazer work crew, he is eligible to wear the Trailblazer belt buckle.

Project COPE is offered at Henson Scout Reservation in a two level program. The high level course for Scouts that have turned 13 by January 1, or that have completed the seventh grade, and the low level course for Scouts that turn 12 years old or completed the sixth grade before they arrive at camp. This physical and mental challenge course on a trail in the woods has been thrilling and exciting Scouts for 10 years at Henson. Come and experience COPE by climbing , swinging and jumping on elements with names like the caving ladder, zip line, meatgrinder, pamper pole, and many more. Level I participants will be awarded a Project COPE patch, Level II participants will be awarded the patch and a very special Project COPE t-shirt and may have earned the climbing merit badge!

SUMMER CAMP PROGRAMS are offered at both Rodney and Henson Scout Reservations. Each camp provides many exciting features and programs that attract boys from all over the country. Rodney’s location on the Chesapeake Bay provides unparalleled waterfront motor boating, sailing, boardsailing and water-skiing activities. Henson’s location in a vast, mostly undisturbed, estuary of the Chesapeake Bay offers unequaled opportunity to live amongst and study nature’s wonders. Program offerings at Henson include Project COPE, BMX & Trail Biking, Water-skiing, Canoeing, climbing, crew rowing, space exploration and much more.

OTHER PROGRAMS AND FACILITIES are available by request. Canoes are available for rent for those qualified. A separate form is required. Each camp has family cabins available for rental on a year round basis. For a nominal fee you and your spouse or family can have access to modern facilities and a quiet, relaxing weekend. Fishing and fishing equipment are available year round at both camps. There is a catch and release bass pond for beginning fisherman at Henson Scout Reservation. Other loaner equipment, such as dutch ovens, cook kits, water jugs and a limited number of tents and other camping equipment is also available. Each camp has an orienteering course. A chapel and local church services are nearby. Conservation and service projects abound at both camps. If you can think of it, you should ask about it. We are here to meet your needs!
