Equipment usually will not be rented over holiday weekends, during Boy Scout summer camp, or if the camp is closed. Applications must be received no less than 2 weeks in advance of the equipment use date, and must include full equipment use fee. ANY RESERVATIONS WITHIN 2 WEEKS OF CAMP DATE MUST INCLUDE AN ADDITIONAL $10 SPECIAL HANDLING FEE. All fees are final 14 days prior to the event except in the case of inclement weather.
FEES: Daily charges apply for every 24-hour period canoes, kayaks and/or trailers are in your possession. Weekend rentals will include charges for 2 days, boats are picked up after 6pm on Friday, and returned on Sunday. Fee includes paddles and one PFD per person.

COUNCIL POLICY FOR WATERCRAFT USE
1. Units are to run their boating activity within the specified boundaries and in full compliance with the Safety Afloat Plan. This plan requires the unit to meet National standards in the areas of qualified supervision, physical fitness, swimming ability, personal flotation equipment, use of the buddy system, skill proficiency, planning, equipment, and discipline. Unit must have adults currently certified in Safe Swim Defense and Safety Afloat (1 for every 10 people) and CPR (1 for the group). No unit will be permitted to use the waterfront or any equipment without producing, at the time of equipment pick up, copies of these certifications. The leader in charge of the trip shall be an experienced canoeist/kayaker not less than 21 years of age. There shall be at least one experienced adult leader (18 years of age or older) for every ten members on the trip.
2. It is the unit leaders responsibility to ensure that all boaters have met the requirements of the swimmer test per BSA National Standards.
3. Canoe trips shall be limited to Class 1 water (moving water with a few ripples and small waves, few or no obstructions) unless ALL participants have met the requirements for canoeing and/or whitewater merit badge.
4. All canoeists must be able to launch and paddle a canoe, and handle a swamped canoe. At least one canoeist in each canoe must have canoeing experience.
5. Personal flotation devices must be worn at all times while boaters are in boats.
6. Sneakers or equivalent will be worn by all expedition members at all times in the boat, on the water, while beaching the boat.
7. Vehicles towing canoe trailers must be equipped with an adequate trailer hitch to fit a 1 7/8 socket or 2 socket as required; brakes shall be in good condition; the vehicle shall be arranged for connection to trailer lights with a standard connecting device; the vehicle shall operate within a safe and reasonable speed (not to exceed 45 miles per hour) while towing; and each towing vehicle shall be adequately insured including insurance coverage on towed trailer.
8. A tour permit including float plan and names of persons in group with current water safety certifications is required.
9. Cub Scouts packs and Webelos dens may not participate in or conduct unit run activities involving canoes, rafts or tubes.
