INFORMATION
RESERVATIONS
POLICY: Reservations may be made beginning August 15 of each
year. Campsites will be
reserved on the basis of the date the completed application and fees are
received by the Camping Service. Phone
reservations cannot be accepted. The
Camping Service will provide information on availability of sites, and
can temporarily hold a site for 10 days, pending receipt of
application and appropriate fees.
Call ext. 6, to check site availability. If
the application and fees are not received within 10 days, THE SITE WILL
BE RELEASED WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE.
REFUND
POLICY: There will be no refund for cancellations within 2
weeks of camp date. Arrangements
made to transfer fees already paid to another weekend can be made ONLY
if the Camping Service is notified at least 2 weeks in advance of the
camp date. An administrative
fee of $10.00 will be charged for refunds and transfers within 30 days
of camp date. If you choose
not to attend camp within two weeks of your camp date, there will be no
refund or transfer regardless of the reason.
If it is necessary to close camp due to inclement weather, you
will be notified. Do not
assume the camp will be closed.

BUILDING
CAPACITIES: Capacities
are set by the local Board of Health and are not to be exceeded
under any circumstances. Units
with campers exceeding the listed building capacity must tent overflow
campers outside or rent other facilities.
INSURANCE:
Unit accident insurance information is required from all out
of council units at time of application.
This is an excess benefits policy that works in conjunction with
family medical insurance. Local
hospitals will require insurance company name, policy number, and
expiration date in the event of an emergency.
Del-Mar-Va council is not responsible for medical expenses
incurred while at camp. Do not send medical bills to the council or the
camp. Del-Mar-Va Council
cannot complete the form or submit the claim for you.
Having bills sent to the office will not result in payment, and
will cause delays in getting them paid.

AGE
LIMITS: No children younger than Boy Scout age are to attend
camp with a Troop unless they are Webelos attending a parent/son
activity. They will be sent
home. Youth members may only
participate in age appropriate activities.
CUB
SCOUT AND WEBELOS CAMPING: Cub Scouts and Webelos may
participate in Pack Family camping and Cub/Parent weekends, and must
have a parent or guardian in attendance at all times.
Cub Scout Packs must have at least one adult who has completed
Cub Scout/Webelos outdoor training in attendance.
Webelos dens are encouraged to have several one or two night
camping experiences. At least one adult must have completed Webelos
outdoor training. All Cub Scout and Webelos weekend camping activities
should occur as parent/son activities.
The adult/boy ratio must be 1:1.
TWO
DEEP LEADERSHIP: is required on all trips and outings.
Separate facilities, i.e. a separate room or tent, (a blanket or
other type of room divider is not acceptable) are required for females
participating in an overnight activity.
Leaders responsible for the group must be registered members of
the BSA and remain with the unit the entire time the unit is in camp.
VEHICLES:
Depending on road conditions, at the discretion of the camp ranger, all
service roads may be closed. If
the roads are only ONE vehicle may remain at the site for
emergency use. The vehicle
is not to be used for anything other than an emergency.
All other vehicles are to be parked in a designated parking area.
Trucks larger than a pick-up, including busses and RVs, are
not allowed on the service roads. All
wheeled sleeping/camping type vehicles and trailers are restricted from
use as housing at both camps. No
persons may be transported in any location in the vehicle other than
where a seatbelt has been provided by the manufacturer of the vehicle.
This includes any type of wheeled vehicle or trailer.
PROHIBITED
ITEMS: The following items are prohibited in camp.
Violators will be asked to leave.
Alcoholic beverages Firearms/Fireworks
Electric or Kerosene Heaters
Sheath Knives
Pets (other than service animals)
Drugs (other than labeled prescription or non-prescription medications)
Rifle
Range: The rifle range may be available for troop use. You
must provide one NRA certified Rifle Instructor for each 8 firing
positions. Current
certifications must be presented to the Camping Service 30 days before
your camp date and again to the Campmaster at the time of range use.
You must provide your own rifles and targets.
Only .22 bolt action, single shot rifles may be used.
Clips or tubular magazines are not permitted.
Rifles must be checked in with Campmasters and will be kept
locked up except during usage. Webelos
and Cub Scouts may not participate. |
